Q: What transmissions does the shifter work with? A: The shifter is designed to work with ALL GM 3-speed and 4-speed transmissions. Q: How far does the handle travel? A: The handle travels farther at the knob as the length of the handle increases. Also it travels farther if a 4 speed transmission is used. At the base of the handle the shifter travel is about 3 ½ inches for the 3-speed and 4 inches for the 4-speed OD. Shiftworks also offers a Short-Gate detent kit that will reduce handle travel both at the knob and at the base. NOTE: The short gate is only available for Rod Linkage. See PDF Files as follows:
